Lindley, I appreciate your remark. It is a part of the human condition that when income rises, lifestyle changes. Why would anyone pay 3 to 10X as much for an airline ticket to fly first class or charter or buy a light jet? Why would someone purchase an automobile that costs well into 6 figures or clothing that is multiple times more expensive that you will find in an average department store? These homes are bought by people who can afford, and justify their ownership of them generally because of their financial situation. My experience has been they are very giving and sharing with family and friends as well as philanthropic with charities. While ego may have a part in a large home, ranch or other luxury property ownership, I find that is not generally the primary motivator. If they don't just "hoard" their funds in an off shore bank account somewhere and purchase real or personal property, their money is providing jobs by circulating in the economy. I think we can all be thankful for that fact.

Thank you so much for your comments and constructive criticisms. You have an interesting perspective for sure. We represent these types of homes from time to time, that is, re-creations or using as a template, some type of some type of European architecture As a casual observer, let alone someone who obviously appreciates architecture knows this home was built for the owners, not with the idea of selling the home. They have spent considerable time in various locals in Europe and settled on the hill top villages of northern Italy as a look they wanted to use. The home was created to not necessarily duplicate historic buildings, but reflect the "look" they wanted. This home is not a movie set or a museum, it's a one of a kind home and property that in the course of us marketing it had dozens of showings and multiple offers before coming to terms and successfully selling the home to its new owner. They are delighted with the home and although have made numerous changes to both the interior and exterior, they kept to over look of the home they fell in love with. All through out the US and in many parts of the world, there are large mansions constructed that either reflect old world or some other historic architecture or these new homes embrace the modern and contemporary. It becomes a matter of personal taste, exercised by people with the resources that we observers can either critique or appreciate for what they have had created. I also appreciate the economic activity they have added to their local markets by having these large homes built.

Thank you for your comment and Italy experience with architecture. This home has been purchased by a couple who have extensively updated it to suit their taste. Having spent much time in Italy myself, I agree that this home has been adapted to American tastes for certain. However, I have spent some time in updated Italian villas in the Tuscany region and while the exteriors, other than windows and repairs have not changed much, most have been very much updated to reflect modern taste. Hundreds of properties through out Italy are available for purchase at VERY cheep prices just to get their economic circumstances turned around by foreign investment dollars.

Armand, I appreciate your concern and comment. It is true that in the late 40's and 1950's the federal government did above ground testing in the west deserts of central Nevada. The radio active dust lifted skyward and tended to settle over "down wind" states of Utah, Colorado and some northern Arizona. The down wind states were also many states east of the Rockies as the dust was lifted high aloft. There was a statistical increase in incidents of some types of cancer for children who were born and spent much time outside during that time frame. Those days have long since passed. The incidents of cancer of all types is now statistically similar and in some studies some what lower in southern Utah than most geographic locations in the continental US. The prevailing theory is that the increased radio activity of the dust that settled over the area 60-70 years ago has dissipated as well as decreased to be no different than most locations around the US.

Looked it up and it seems that this is well water from a natural aquifer underneath desert color.

This water is non-potable water, which means it cannot be used for culinary purposes. It is pumped and treated onsite.

Randy, A great questioning observation. The 2.5 acre clear blue lagoon with 1/2 mile of white sand beaches is supplied with un-potable water that is pumped from underground on site. The water is full of dissolved minerals such as sulfur and other high concentrations of minerals. The Developer of Desert Color built a $1,000,000. decontamination filtration system to make the water clear and swim-able. It's perfect for recreation, but not for drinking or other uses. Thank you for your comment. I know Jon Pike's political decisions before leaving office about name changes and kneeling with BLM representatives were very controversial. I know Jon and have spoken to him serval times about those issues. Historically, Jon Pike was Mayor from 2013 through December of 2020. He took a job as Insurance Commissioner with the State of Utah in December 2020. Politically, he was elected 2 times in a row as mayor and served on the City Council from 2007 until his election as mayor. He is a registered republican and is considered a conservative on the vast majority of issues. He did placate the sensitive issue of race by taking his famous photo of kneeling with the "Black Lives Matter" students of Dixie College during the summer of the George Floyd's death and the riots that ensued following that tragic event. Knowing Jon, it was a judgement call that he and the police chief made to defuse a situation that was at a boiling point in many parts of the country. He took a political hit in the opinion polls, but at the time he felt he was doing the right thing for our community as he signaled the young people that he and his police chief heard them and respected all individuals regardless of race. When speaking with him afterwards, he admitted it was a tough call and knows it was not a popular decision but turned out to go far with the racially sensitive in our community. We avoided the large demonstrations as well as the rioting that took place in SLC. politicians

Hanno scattato molte foto di elementi nelle case che assomigliano molto ai dettagli e alla costruzione utilizzati nella casa che hanno creato. Ovviamente ci sono diversi tipi di architettura che è stata utilizzata in Italia nel corso dei secoli di costruzione. Ti auguro un felice anno nuovo e grazie ancora per il tuo commento.

I proprietari vivevano in Italia e viaggiavano parecchio nella parte mediterranea del mondo. Hanno chiesto al loro architetto di prendere ciò che gli piaceva di più e lo hanno ricreato per la loro casa. La casa non è italiana al 100% ma è una grande rappresentazione delle grandi ville dell'area mediterranea.

Addressing your opinion, I must say after living in many western states and visiting most states of the US and over 30 foreign countries I love coming home to south west Utah. Our part of the state has an amazing quality of life that is hard to beat surrounded by awesome outdoor opportunities for recreation, terrific parks, clean air and water, excellent health care, great transportation infrastructure and most importantly wonderful people who reach out and help others day in and day out. I think you'll agree that many of the changes have been good for our area with the dramatic increase of employment opportunities for our children and grand children, but alas the increased traffic, urbanization and no small town feel are some of the prices we all pay.

We sold this home to a terrific couple who have really made it their own with an update of both the home and the grounds. I assure you that they are not "momsters" ha. The former owner was a family man with a terrific family also. No doubt it is a very different home that could be used as a movie set for multiple topics.

Thank you for taking time to comment on our video. The St. George area is a terrific place to live for certain. As far as "racial slurs" I suppose you can hear those most anywhere. I've lived in large cities, traveled to more than 30 countries and found that people for the most part are not particularly racist almost anywhere. There are always a few people with bad experiences but I think you will find the people of south west Utah as a pretty accepting group. There are people of all races living side by side pretty happily. I know I have friends of many ethnicities and am a descendant of many cultures. I wish you the best.

Thank you for taking time to comment about our video. The home is about 28,000 square feet so over 1/3 acre of indoor living space plus about another 7,000 square feet of covered space in the 8 garages, patios and decks. The grounds are just over 3.5 acres.

It's not about whether the pilot has won awards or not. A drone should not be used for indoor shots. The whole point of a video is to make the person watching feel as if they were right next to the cameraman walking through the house. You do indoor filming with a phone/camera and a gimbal and outdoor shots with a drone. Watch Chakits Krulsawat's videos in Vegas. He knows how to do it right.
